“We want a society founded on service.” – Eugenia Washington, DAR Founder
Welcome to Multnomah-Portland Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). Located in Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and organized on February 21, 1896, we are proud to be a part of the Portland metro community and the beautiful state of Oregon for 128 years. We are a women’s service organization dedicated to serving our community, state, and nation.
DAR has three mission areas:
Patriotism
We support our country, its Constitution and our freedoms by honoring our flag, our active military, veterans, and good citizens.
Historic Preservation
Our chapter members participate in and provide support to a variety of projects that help preserve our cultural heritage.
Education
We are passionate about educating the youth of America and supporting schools and student programs in a variety of ways.
